- Animated GIFs - I like the ones with tension
- Light Bulb
- Smash TV
- Abstract video with a base of mundane/potentially bad, grainy footage processing it to the point of non-resemblance. Using a combination of Nuke and FCP.
- Something programmatic - Porcessing or Maya -> shapes/fractals -> Mandelbrot set.
- I'd have to learn both, maybe too late in the degre to do this with the tools I don't understand. What about Nuke though?
- Continue analysing things close up using actual video
- Video Animation -> Morph train to pieces to Bird.
- Koyanastazi for Canberra.

Wk1 - Ideas for this semester
I thought I was very clear about what I wanted to do but as of today I don't know. A friend of mine thought it might help if I outline the various ideas I had for this semester thus here they are:

Wk1 - Video Complementary 2
Day 1 of my last semester of Uni.
It was alright. Played with the 5D this afternoon. Mostly footage of the lift within the Music building.
I'm not really wanting to be here this semester. I kinda want a semester off to be honest. But maybe once I stop doing full-time work as well I'll feel differently. Here's hoping.
In any case, digital video with Riley should be good. I'm still deciding whether I want to go with my original idea or not but I'm sure that will materialise as time progresses.
Options at this stage:

In any case, digital video with Riley should be good. I'm still deciding whether I want to go with my original idea or not but I'm sure that will materialise as time progresses.
Options at this stage:
- Video experimentation based on highly processed video footage to the point of non-resemblance.
- Processed video (as above) mixed with experimental projection within Maya
- Processing - Or at least something programmatic.
- Animated GIFs - something I've been fascinated with and something I've been blogging under inspiration for a while.

The ideas thus far...
- Animated DVD Spines on shelf - using the images from the spines, much like my mosaic work, you could show moving images using the spines as an animated image source.
- Dyslexia Animation - attempt to convey to others how I visually see the world and have done for years... possibly using the images from the tests used to diagnose me.
- Beautiful swirling things - why are they beautiful? Clouds, water... cup-of-tea - the swirling patterns as the milk mixes with the tea, hypnotic, fascinating. Go larger, like a fish bowl.
- Title Sequence emulation - video mixing normal/mundane (haircut, cleaning, ceramics) with murder/death ala Dexter, Six Feet, True Blood.
- Gross-outs - Rather than gross someone out using something nice like in the past, try deliberately using gross things or try to turn those gross things into fascinating things - e.g. the macro landscape of dog poo.

3rd Year & Object Porn
I've been thinking tonight about what really impresses me.
I believe I have a strong idea for my major but even though I have two relatively good ideas for my complimentary, I've realised tonight what I could do to really achieve my goal of making a piece of work that a company like DK would sit up and take notice of.
I've realised that the beauty in the truly impressive title sequences is not only the various aspects I've listed privately but it's also how they've shot inanimate objects... which leads me to my thought... object porn. How to light an object, how to better take video of an object, both inside and outside objects.
Let's face it, it's what I've been doing with my jars, etc. anyway... maybe that's what my complimentary needs to focus on! Now how to make it work...
